I would estimate this shade to be from the 1920″s. It is the ultimate in craftsmanship and a privilege to work on this piece. As you can see the cover is completely gone but I was able to remove the original top trim and bottom trim and fringe. The bottom fringe is actually 3 layers of fringe: the 1st (or inner most) layer is 6″ antique gold chainette fringe, topped with a layer of black 6″ chainette fringe and most spectacular is the outer layer of 6″ tightly wound spring fringe. The original craftsmanship was a teaching tool in itself. Absolutely fabulous piece privately owned.
